PastMasters utilizes the best available technology to transfer the audio from analog audiotape and LP record sources. Care is taken to prevent adding noise or distortion in the analog reproduction cycle.
- LPs are played using a Stanton STR8-80 digital turnable.
- Quartertrack stereotape is reproduced by a modern design TEAC X3 or Dokorder 7100.
- Halftrack mono and stereotape is reproduced by a Sony TC 650.
Improvement in sound quality to modern standards is made possible by Behringer Audio DeNoiser, Behringer Composer Pro XL and Alesis USB 8 multi-effects mixer and direct recording to Philips CD-R.
- Where necessary, computer editing using Cool Edit pro/Adobe Audition for CD-R and MP3.
