It was bound to happen, two (2) simultaneous highspeed persuits on the LA freeway system, broke just as KCAL (9) began its noon newscast February 17, 1999. Split screen coverage, with top van running south from Antelope Valley and lower car coming west from Palm Springs. Paths nearly crossed in downtown LA.
Split screens will become passe in the digital television age because then you will be able to select the persuit of choice as they are multicast on the same digital channel.
