The on-air date was July 9, 2001, with transmitter actually located on Mt Wilson. It is affiliated with Azteca America Television Network, 80% owned by Pappas Telecast and 20% by Azteca TV of Mexico. Pappas other TV stations have dropped Azteca, and will be gone from KAZA after current contracts expire.
