Fox KTTV had filed for digital TV on Channel 68 previously allocated to KRCA. Part of the mix-up is attributed to the Chief Engineer being on vacation when the application was due, so management gave the FCC form to one of the other plant engineers, Homer Simpson, to complete. Oddly enough, Homer thought he was requesting a pizza, so DTV68 will be the very first digital television station to be constructed solely from pepperoni and double cheese. This potentially sticky situation was averted and the FCC will have Fox build on channel 65. Both KRCA and KTTV has begun digital operations.
